Global Commitment to Childhood: Víctor González Herrera Joins UNICEF in Geneva

Víctor González Herrera, executive president of Grupo Por Un País Mejor, traveled to Geneva, Switzerland, to participate in the symposium "For Every Child, a Future", organized by the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF). His main objective was to strengthen collaboration and explore new ways to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals, focusing on the well-being of children and adolescents worldwide.
The symposium served as the stage for presenting the "State of the World's Children" report, a crucial document outlining the main threats facing children and adolescents today. The report highlighted three critical areas: the climate crisis, which jeopardizes their future; disruptive technologies, which present both opportunities and challenges; and demographic changes that require policy adaptations.
During the event, González Herrera engaged in discussions with leaders from various sectors to identify joint strategies for addressing these challenges. His participation emphasized the importance of coordinating with the private sector, recognizing its vital role in building a promising future for children.
In Geneva, he also met with Kitty van der Heijden, Deputy Executive Director of Partnerships at UNICEF, where they agreed on specific philanthropic actions to support children and adolescents worldwide. "It is revealing to understand how much UNICEF does around the world," he remarked, highlighting the organization's global presence and diverse strategies.
This engagement reflects both his personal commitment and that of Grupo Por Un País Mejor to champion children's rights and foster a more just and equitable world for all.
